Lifesound ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. Information we collect

Account information: email address and display name when you create an account.
Profile information: username, profile photo, and bio you choose to provide.
Sound moments: audio recordings, titles, and the geographic coordinates where they were captured.
Location data: approximate location when you record a moment or browse the map (only when you grant permission).
Usage data: anonymised analytics about how you use the app (via PostHog), including which features you use and when.

2. How we use your information

To provide and improve the Lifesound service.
To display your moments on the public map (only moments you mark as public).
To send you notifications about activity related to your account (with your permission).
To understand how the app is used so we can make it better.

3. Data storage

Your data is stored securely on Supabase infrastructure located in the EU (Ireland). Audio files are stored in encrypted cloud storage. We do not sell your data to third parties.

4. Your rights

Under GDPR you have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you.
Request correction or deletion of your data.
Export your data in a portable format.
Withdraw consent at any time.

5. Data retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data and recordings are permanently deleted within 30 days.

6. Third-party services

Supabase — database and authentication (EU servers).
PostHog — anonymised usage analytics (EU servers).
Apple — Sign in with Apple (subject to Apple's Privacy Policy).
Apple Maps — map display (no location data sent to Apple without your permission).

7. Children

Lifesound is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via the app or email.
